Title: The Astounding Broccoli Boy
Author: Frank Cottrell Boyce
A funny, thrilling, family book suitable for all ages. The story itself is great, it’s about a boy called Rory Rooney, who turns green and goes off on adventures to save and help London! As the medics are trying to work out what turned him green, he is trying to work out why he turned green. What if instead of being ill he’s really become super, gaining powers that no one else has? When you’re a super hero there is danger at every corner, trouble in every street and most importantly enemies, watching your every move. Meeting royalty and parliament members is expected as a superhero, which is what Rory and his gang do, but why…
My favourite character must be Tommy Lee as he is silly and funny and it makes the sad and scary moments the best bits of the book. Being a superhero means many things, one is that you need a sweet ride that’s why Rory and his friends catch a ride on a milk float!
This has been a great book to read. I have read some other books by Frank, and those are brilliant too, so I highly suggest not just checking this book out but his others as well.
